The quality of our herdsires is based on proven award-winning
genetics and validated in the showring with many blue ribbons
and champion awards. Our proven stud, Zanzibar, won a Blue
Ribbon at the 2007 Futurity, a Blue Ribbon at TxOlan 2009,
plus several other blues.
2008 was an outstanding show season for Piney Woods. Our
junior herdsire, Black Jack, took FOUR blue ribbons in four
straight shows and one Reserve Champion as a yearling! Our
other junior herdsire, Braveheart, took two red ribbons and
one third place in very large classes of fawns. Also his fleece
took a Blue Ribbon and Reserve Champion as well as Judge's
Choice at the LA Deep South show in Monroe, LA.
